Dear Diary,
Today, my father told me that we want to be be naval partners with Japan. He said that we sailed up to their coast and pointed guns at them and they just agreed to be partners with us. He said that if we have access to Japan, we can have access to all of Asia and it's markets. He said he didn't really go into detail about this whole topic. I figure this is because he wants me to think about this on my own. And I know that Alaska is closer to Asia than Japan is to Hawaii so why are we going to be shipping out from there? That would make complete sense. But I guess if we go from there we cannot make any stops along the way. Is there an island alone the way? I have no idea. But since we can sell to all their markets, we will get lots of money from them since Asia is the biggest continent. And if we have more money, then we can become an empire faster. I always have thought that the more money you have, the more power you have. And I think that that is true. People with more money usually have more opportunity to make a change in this world. But i also think that if this money is the wrong hands then it could be used in the wrong way. As humans, I think, that money is a straight path to greediness if not handled in the right way. With money comes responsibility and without that responsibility, you lose sight of what needs to get done. So I think Japan should become navel partners with us but they should make a deal that they split the money sold in the markets with us. I think that Washington would not like this idea at all because he still wants us to mind our own business and stay away from other countries problems. And trading with Japan can certainly lead to problems. When problems arise, they need to be dealt with not just left alone.
